Dough -
6 cups flour
½ cup fat
1/3 cup mashed potatoes
1 egg
4 Tbl sugar
1 tsp salt
2 cups milk
2 yeast cakes
Glaze -
1 lb powdered sugar
½ cup boiling water
1 tsp vanilla
Mix flour and fat together (like pie crust); add potatoes,
sugar, salt.
Soften yeast in milk.
Knead slightly. Roll out to ½-inch thick.
Cut and let stand 20-25 minutes in a warm place.
Fry at 300 degrees
Drain on paper towel and glaze.
